Join us on a discovery walk and experience what nature on campus has to offer.
In May, nature is often at its most beautiful: elderflower, hawthorn, and many wild herbs and edible plants are in bloom. Daphne STRUINT will guide us on an inspiring wild foraging walk across the campus.
In 1 to 1.5 hours, you’ll learn what you can harvest from the wild — with respect for nature. Along the way, you’ll hear myths, stories, facts, and recipes about edible plants. After the walk, participants can take there freshly picked herbal tea.
Did you know that ground elder was once brought by the Romans as a vegetable, that the Dutch word “flierefluiter” refers to the elder tree, and that plantain is sometimes called the “footsteps of the white man”? Discover it during this unique walk.
